State Police: Wrong-way driver on Route 15 was DUI

A 36-year-old Derby man has been arrested after State Police said he drove the wrong way on Route 15 last month. Troopers also say the man was DUI and didn’t have a license. Shortly after 2 a.m. on Nov. 20, state police at the Troop I barracks received a 911 call reporting a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane near Exit 56 in Orange. “Troopers were able to safely stop the wrong-way vehicle near Exit 58, the ramp leading to Route 34. The driver was identified as Flavio Rogerio Bueno, of Shagbark Drive. Police said Bueno had a Japanese resident card in his possession, but no driver’s license. While talking with Bueno, Trooper Roman Gray detected the odor of alcohol on his breath.
