One killed, two injured in Stratford crash

STRATFORD — State police are investigating early-morning crash on the Merritt Parkway in Stratford that has left one person dead and two others with serious injuries. Troopers say that at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, two vehicles traveling southbound collided, sending both cars into the guard rails. One of the vehicles flipped over the guardrail near Exit 53, rolled down an embankment and its three occupants were ejected. Jordan A. Soares, 27, of Dayton Road, Bridgeport, was declared dead after arriving at Bridgeport Hospital. He was a front-seat passenger in the car that flipped over, a 2013 Infiniti JX35 sport-utility vehicle. He was also listed as the owner of the SUV.
