STRATFORD—A man who barricaded himself in his home and threatened to kill himself was unhurt after a negotiator and tactical team arrested him Monday morning, Stratford Police spokesman Capt. Frank Eannotti said, in a statement.
The man’s standoff with police started around 2 a.m. when police went to his Hurd Avenue Home to check on him following a report that he was suicidal.
The confrontation lasted for 4 hours.
“During the incident (he) threatened to shoot himself,” Eannotti said. “The Stratford Police Special Response Team and Negotiators responded and were able to resolve the incident (at 6 a.m.).”
The man was charged with disorderly conduct and placed in a hospital for observation.
