NORWALK - The smell of marijuana smoke from one of the rooms at Courtyard Marriott led to the arrest of two Stamford men and the seizure of nine pounds of pot and more than $18,000 in cash.
According to Lt. Terry Blake, officers were dispatched to the Courtyard Marriott on Main Avenue shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday for a complaint.
“Hotel management reported a marijuana odor emanating from one of the rooms. Management wanted the occupants escorted from the premise.” Blake said in a release.
“The officers contacted the occupants, Kevin Tobar-Castillo and Johan Cifuentes, in the hallway outside of their room. Due to the heavy odor of marijuana, the officers requested consent to search the room.
