BRIDGEPORT — A Kurdish family that fled the violence in their native Iraq was in a city apartment attending a birthday party Sunday when their 5-year-old daughter was shot in the hand by an errant bullet.
A few inches in any direction and the bullet could of killed any of the five people standing along it’s path, including three other children, the father said.
Perez said a 73-year-old man who had been working on his car outside was grazed in the head by another gunshot as rival gunslingers turned the area into their own shooting gallery, hitting cars and houses.
[...] down Maplewood Avenue a white sedan had bullet holes through both passenger windows, where a slug had passed a few inches above a child seat.
